The CDU/CSU and SPD have agreed on a coalition agreement for the next legislative period, laying out the common path for Germany on 146 pages. This is encouraging news for the Northern Black Forest economic region and a special feature for our transformation network, as starting in line 192, it addresses the automotive and supplier industries, and it contains an important sentence:
“We will continue to support regional transformation networks and hubs beyond 2025.”
This is an important step for the regional economy and a validation of our previous work with the Northern Black Forest Transformation Network and the overall work of the 27 networks in Germany. We are working intensively and successfully towards the goal of supporting companies in the region in their transformation and driving economic development. But it is far from complete, and we would therefore be delighted to continue this work.
With further funding from the federal government, which the coalition agreement makes possible and likely, we can focus our efforts even more effectively and support the regional economy even better. We sincerely thank the federal government for its support so far and hope that the next steps will be implemented promptly so that our work can continue without interruption.
